About Julián
Julián Muro is a musician, poet, traveler, and contemporary troubadour. He has released two albums of songs and instrumental music, with his work featured in the US, Canada, Australia, and Argentina. His poetry appears in the Colombian anthology Breve Tratado del Viento Sur. Julián holds Master of Music degrees from The New School (NY) and Codarts (NL). He was twice selected for the Banff Musicians in Residence program (Canada), supported by the Raul Urtasun–Frances Harley Scholarship and the John W. Kieley Endowment. In 2024, he was awarded the Lyseloth Scholarship for a residency at Musikerwohnhaus (Switzerland). He earned the Tishman Center Award for Excellence in Climate, Environmental Justice, and Sustainability for his project La Tierra, una criatura. Supported by New Music USA, Amarte (NL), and SGAE (SP), he is currently working on two new albums—one produced by Dave Douglas, and another entirely self-produced.
